Every space has its own dimensions, and it is as an individual one can make it feel big or small, depends on the interior designing. I will mention a few here in the following points:
One can have light coloured walls (hints of colours in white) with a number of small wall hangings to make the space look wider. The floor can have a small pattern design or small motifs, this way it will make the space feel larger.
Obvious answer is to use the height to your advantage. Make one or two such features or two of the walls which use the entire height of the room. Rest of the walls can have orange or yellow or any striking colours. You can also have wall papers with small design to give it an enhance effect. Or you can also use wall papers that come with vertical lines.
One way to design it is to make it very impact-full. One can make the ceiling black. The moment you do that, you are not able to see the upper end of the wall and this works. Then have one wall of grey colour or any other dark colour. The floor has to be grey to get the effects. It is must. A black ceiling and grey floor. You will never be able to make out the actual height of the room visually.
Have at least one wall of either mirror or of lacquered glass. Then have horizontal grooves in one of the walls. No vertical lines (Absolute No No). White ceiling and white floor, rest of the walls may be whitish. This will work definitely. To make further impact have a lot of ceiling lights. BOOM. Job is done. You get a fantastic room.
